Description

So I randomly got a message in NeoPets about a week ago. Someone had seen my art around and wanted to know if I did art requests. Despite the fact that I have other things I need to draw, I said, "Yeah, but I'm kind of a busy thing so it won't be the most awesomeness of awesome."

So... this is what I did. All on my tablet, because I felt like experimenting that way. (Granted, it probably would have gotten drawn even faster if I had done it the traditional method but... phooey! I'm having fun with my toy!) I'm not too terribly proud of it and I think it's the pose that's bugging me. The korbat character was described as "depressed" and, well, that doesn't lead to the most dynamic of poses, now does it?

Anyway, it was also an experiement with shading/highlighting. So did I go overboard or is it alright?

Korbats and NeoPets and stuff like that belongs, of course, to NeoPets, Inc. (www.neopets.com)

Oh yeah, and I totally ripped off that pale byline(or three) down on the lower left from kettensage because it seemed like the most logical way to do it. (And she rules.)

That is sweet! He's really nicely done. The colors are beautiful and the wing transparency is terrific!

Now - :D A bit of muscularity on the chest and shoulders would make it believable that he could fly. I'm not going by any Neopets art here, just on visual anthro art. :) Fliers like bats need large mucsles and light long bones to get airborn. Of course, if he doesn't 'actually' fly, then that's not an issue is it lol!

Also watch the thumb placement on that one hand. It looks a bit like we're seeing the back of the hand instead of the front, or ... something. :) anyway it's a very nice picture!
